Who I can Help
While I have worked with clients with a wide variety of health conditions, my expertise lies in the following areas:
Digestive Health
I work with those suffering from many types of digestive symptoms and conditions to find the underlying root causes (usually a combination of infections, stress, and dietary habits) to heal their gut and be able to tolerate a diet full of delicious and healthy foods.
Your digestion also has effects far beyond the digestive system. Many conditions have been linked to imbalanced gut bacteria such as diabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, high blood pressure, obesity, autoimmune disease, and more.
If you have any of the conditions listed or some of the following, I’ll be able to help:
- Digestive symptoms like bloating/gas, constipation/diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain but don’t have a diagnosis (though you’ve seen a doctor about it)
- GERD/reflux/LPR
- Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
- Dysbiosis or microbial imbalance (overgrowth of “bad” bacteria and not enough good bacteria)
- IBS
- Celiac and gluten intolerance
- FODMAP intolerance
- Food sensitivity
If you’re looking for a low-cost way to learn how to address these issues, check out my Build Your Biome program here.
Pregnancy Prep
Preparing to bring a baby into the world can feel a bit overwhelming. There is so much that affects your health, as well as the health of your baby, so let me help you prepare for a wonderful pregnancy and a healthy, thriving newborn!
In pregnancy prep, we will address:
- Infertility, if applicable
- Hormonal balance
- Digestive health – your gut bacteria balance has a big impact on your baby’s gut health in the future
- Adrenal health – your stress levels impact your baby’s health
- Nutrient status – let’s make sure you have all the nutrients you need to bring a healthy baby into the world
- Dietary and lifestyle factors – we’ll get you on a personalized nutrient-dense diet and make sure you’re doing everything you can for a healthy pregnancy in the future
Note: Ideally, I like to have at least 3 months set aside just for prepping for pregnancy. However, if you’d like to start trying sooner, just let me know and we can modify the approach!
Fatigue and Adrenal Issues
The HPA axis is the control center for all of our stress reactions, and its functionality affects almost every facet of our being. Those with “adrenal fatigue” (more scientifically called “HPA axis dysregulation”) or hormonal problems may experience the following symptoms that respond well to holistic diet and lifestyle change:
- Exhaustion, especially compared to previous energy levels
- Problems sleeping (insomnia, multiple wake-ups during the night)
- Feeling stressed out or unable to cope with stressful situations
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
- Difficulty exercising (i.e. exercise intolerance)
- Increased allergies
- Multiple infections (colds, viruses, digestive infections, staph, etc)
- Blood sugar imbalance (often low blood sugar)
- Low blood pressure (feeling dizzy when standing from a seated position is a common indicator of this)
- Infertility
- Amenorrhea (lack of a regular period)
